Quantel Laser is proud to partner with the OSA Foundation to present the Bright IdeasTM Competition giving students, scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs the opportunity to compete for up to $30,000 in laser systems from Quantel Laser’s portfolio of products.

All professionals working in for-profit and non-profit organizations are invited to submit a proposal for any application which requires the use of a Quantel Laser system. Proposals will be accepted through 1 March 2017.

Submissions will be judged on originality, merit, and feasibility by an independent panel of reviewers selected by the OSA.  A small group of finalists will be asked to present their idea in a special session at the Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (CLEO), May 14-19 May 2017 in San Jose, CA USA.

“For over 40 years, Quantel has worked hand-in-hand with major researchers all over the world”, commented Patrick Maine, Chief Technical Officer at Quantel.  “We have been fortunate enough to have been a part of some of the most interesting and innovative ideas and applications and are pleased to be able to continue to support the global photonics community with this award.”

Applicants must complete and submit their proposals by March 1, using the simple format at the OSA Quantel Laser Prize website. The competition is open to both OSA members and non-members.
