A LUMIBIRD LASER IN SPACEfor wind measurements by doppler LIDAR

The ESA's AEOLUS wind satellite was launched last week. "It will measure winds around the globe and play a key role in our quest to better understand the working of our atmosphere" as expained by ESA.
LUMIBIRD is proud to be part of this challenge as designer and manufacturer of the amplifier of the high power pulsed UV laser (50Hz, 355nm, 120mJ, SLM).
The diode-pumped pumping chambers were designed to maintain high beam quality, withstanding extreme environmental stresses.
