After a first change in terms of organization in 2007, the Quantel Industrial and Scientific Lasers Division (ISLD) wants to develop its direct presence in German speaking countries (Germany, Austria and alemmanic Switzerland). |

It is organized by the CNRS (Scientific Research National Center) within the framework of the 50th anniversary of the laser.

| Following up the eruption of the volcano in Iceland, a Leosphere lidar integrating a Quantel laser has confirmed the results of the French scientific flight on April 20th.
The flight aimed to detect particles in the air, to define their size and to evaluate their concentration.
