Quantel Laser a annoncé aujourd'hui l'introduction de l'option mono-mode logitudinal (SLM) pour ses lasers pulsés Nd:YAG Q-smart 850 et Q-smart 450.

San Francisco, CA – Quantel Laser, a leader in the design and manufacture of high-power, solid-state lasers for Scientific, Industrial, Military and Medical applications, today announced the release of a Single Longitudinal Mode (SLM) option for its popular Q-smart 850 and Q-smart 450 series of pulsed Nd:YAG lasers.

Pulsed Nd:YAG lasers, long a workhorse laser for many different scientific, industrial and medical applications, can have their optical specifications enhanced via the introduction of a seed pulse injected into the cavity.  Quantel’s Q-smart SLM configuration results in a beam with reduced spectral linewidth (0.005 cm-1) and increased coherence length, properties critical for applications such as OPO and dye laser pumping, Doppler LIDAR and holography.

Quantel designed the SLM module to be easily integrated, requiring no factory installation if ordered with the Q-smart.  And, unique to this design, on-site upgradability reduces laser down time as Quantel technicians can add the SLM option at a later date without the need to ship the laser back to the factory.

The Q-smart 850 and 450 with the SLM option will be showcased, for the first time, from February 10-12 at the Photonics West conference in San Francisco, CA.

The Q-smart series is quickly becoming the laser of choice for scientific users of pulsed Nd:YAG, due to the flexibility and versatility designed into the platform.  Boasting the highest lamp life in the industry, exceeding 100 million shots, as well as the only automated phase matching capability, the Q-smart offers unparalleled flexibility and ease of use.

Ever since the release of the Q-Smart series last year, customers have asked us to expand its capability” said Emilie Colin, Product Line Manager for Scientific Lasers at Quantel.  “The SLM option now offers customers ultra-narrow single longitudinal mode outputs and a smooth temporal profile.  Our customers also appreciate the compact size and ease of integration of the module.”

“The Q-smart series represents the industry’s first complete redesign of the pulsed YAG laser in a number of years,” commented Greg Smolka, VP, Sales & Marketing.  “Our customers want to use lasers simply as tools in their research rather than as complex instruments requiring frequent adjustments and care.  We continue that philosophy with this latest expansion of the Q-smart line.”
