POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Industrial and Scientific Laser division is seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to lead its North American sales team as well as grow revenue on his own territory. The candidate will therefore have both management responsibilities and an individual direct contribution to the revenue growth.
The target clients will include universities, research labs, and Original Equipment Manufacturer.
This position reports to the VP of Sales, Industrial and Scientific Lasers.
Responsibilities:
* Define North America sales strategy to ensure increased sales revenue for territory: develop territory sales plan and coordinate prospection effort with marketing team. Manage key OEM relationships: understand client’s organization, strategy, key programs, decision making process and assess further sales opportunities. Identify and develop opportunities in new market segments.
* Manage a team of 2 regional sales engineers based in Bozeman, Montana. When necessary, insure sales force is properly trained.
* Meet own quarterly and yearly sales objectives for the Northeast territory – ensure prospecting, on-the ground sales, demonstration, negotiation and customer follow-up. Identify and qualify prospect received by marketing team and own rolodex. Cultivate and grow relationship with existing clients and ensure adequate client support. Visit clients on a regular basis and communicate company’s commitment to excellence.
* Attend a variety of sales situations such as customer meetings, trade shows, press briefings, potential partner meetings.
* Work closely with Product Line Managers to ensure best technical support for clients.
* Provide management on a timely manner with accurate pipeline, forecast, and update on customer service issues.
REQUIREMENTS
BS or MS in Physical Sciences, Engineering or Lasers/Electro-Optics with 10 years of professional experience. Minimum 3 years experience in direct sales in the laser/photonic industry with yearly objectives >$2M. Track record of achieving quota. Previous management experience required. Ability to work autonomously. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Computer skills including MS Office and CRM Systems. Good vision required. Familiarity with European work environment or interest in international environments a plus. Possess an assertive, disciplined, consultative demeanor with an appetite for challenges.
A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel 50 to 70% of the time is required. Some international travel required.
